Ethan McKellar is an emerging ceramic artist making art in relation to connecting with a deeper sense of self and humanity. After the loss of his father in 2021, his work has dealt with figuring out his identity in the midst of grief. Ethan received their Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and their Master of Fine Arts from Clemson University with a focus on Ceramics. His work employs atmospheric firing as a means of highlighting the intensity and labor of care that are inherent to the work. Ethan seeks to educate and inspire others to be more vulnerable and to seek healthy guidance and support within their community. He has exhibited his artwork in various regional and national exhibitions across the Southeast.

Ethan calls the Carolinas his home and currently lives in Clemson, SC. He tries to be a good son to his mother and continues the passion that his family wants him to bring into the world.
